Are Considering Making or Amending Your Will?

One of the most common Wills & Probate services we are instructed for is Will Writing. We have included a list of some basic things to consider and to think about when looking to provide for others in the event of your death:

• Do you know people that you would like to nominate as your Executors, the person or people who would manage the arrangements of your Estate and bring your Will into effect (we usually suggest that you have 2 if you can)?
• Do you have wishes concerning funerary arrangements that you wish to express, such as burial or cremation? Have you purchased a funeral plan?
• Are there any specific gifts that you wish to make such as lump sum amounts for individuals or charities? Are there certain possessions, with either a particularly significant monetary or sentimental value, that you would like someone to have?
• Have you thought about all of the assets and belongings which you have such as property, car, savings, pensions, insurances, etc.? How you would like these to be distributed? For some this may be straightforward to close family members, for others less so.
• Is there anyone in your immediate family or close relatives that you are considering leaving out of your Will? If so, are you able to identify reasons for this as it will be very important to discuss that specifically.

Basic Wills start from around £150.00 with Basic Mirror Wills, usually for 2 spouses, starting from around £200.00 and any additional costs will ultimately depend upon whether or not there are any complex circumstances that require further attention.
